February weigh-in

I went for my monthly weigh-in yesterday at Riverside. I am down another 5 lbs!! I really thought I had gained weight, so you can imagine how happy I was to see that I had lost that much:) That's a total of 15 lbs. since I went to the seminar in November 07 - and 10 lbs in the past 2 months. The dietician feels I'm ready to have the surgery now and was going to fax my paperwork in to the insurance company yesterday. They will either approve it or tell me I have to do 3 more months with the dietician. So keep your fingers crossed!

So now it's back on schedule for keeping my food log and getting my butt up to exercise. Which the exercise seems to be my hardest thing to get motivated on. If you have any pointers - please - let me know!

Truly to make sure your skin stays firm once you lose the weight you have to get on the workout bandwagon... you'll be surprised at how much energy it gives you to.

Now I love working out, so I might not be the best to give advice here. :) But I started small just taking a walk to relax and think or read a book while your doing the stationary bike it makes the time pass and you get the added bonus of doing something you might not otherwise find the time for.

Good luck!

Saying a prayer and crossing fingers that the insurance company plays along nicely!

For the exercise, I agree with Amanda - just start small and work up. I keep a set of 5 lb. hand wieghts by my bed - even just a few curl reps AS SOON AS YOU WAKE UP can get you motivated for the rest of the day!

Also, incorporate your kids (2 of them are old enough to help...). Have "dance parties" where you're doing a hip-hop workout or jazzercise and make them think it's a game. Or have a competition with them to see who can do more situps or pushups (they might win for the first few weeks, but then start cheering you on as you get better than them!).

Your kids can be great motivators in more than one way!
